UV STANDARD 801
Made for water & sun
Whether swimming or stand-up paddling, on the bike, on a hike or in the garden: UV clothing is the most reliable layer of protection after shade — and far more comfortable than the third round of sunscreen in a day.
The UVEEKAI women's collection protects where sunscreen reaches its limits: across large areas, continuously and without reapplying. Every piece is certified to UV STANDARD 801 by the Hohenstein Institute (NB 0555) — the test standard that measures the fabric wet, stretched and after washing, while the usual UPF 50+ labelling only rates new, dry fabric. The measured value: UPF 80, through the fabric alone.
Four pieces, one system
Choose from long-sleeve shirts for arms, shoulders and neck, hoodies with a close-fitting hood for head and ears, leggings for the legs and swim shorts for the water. All pieces are made of chlorine- and saltwater-resistant performance fabric, with chafe-free flatlock seams and YKK zip pockets — a regular, close-to-body fit in XS to XL.
Care & delivery
Machine washable at 30 °C on a gentle cycle. Shipping from Germany with DHL within 1–3 working days, free returns within 30 days.
Frequently asked questions
What does a tested UPF 80 to UV STANDARD 801 mean?
UV STANDARD 801 measures UV protection on wet, stretched and washed fabric too – under conditions like real wear, not only on new, dry fabric (Source: German Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS)). The certified UPF 80 means: mathematically, only about one eightieth of the sunburn-effective UV radiation reaches the covered skin, in the water too.
Which activities is the UV clothing suitable for?
Anything that keeps you outdoors for long: swimming, stand-up paddling and snorkelling as much as cycling, hiking, running or gardening. The protection comes from the fabric alone and — unlike sunscreen — never needs reapplying. Uncovered skin such as face and hands still needs sunscreen (Source: German Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS)).
How do I care for UV protective clothing?
Wash at 30 °C on a gentle cycle; do not bleach, do not iron, do not dry-clean and do not tumble dry – air-drying is best. The UPF protection is built into the fabric construction itself and holds across many washes — that is part of the UV STANDARD 801 test.
