More about UV STANDARD 801The outer UV-Tech 168 fabric consists of 82 % polyester and 18 % elastane and is certified to UV STANDARD 801 by the Hohenstein Institute (NB 0555), classified as EU PPE Category I under Regulation 2016/425. The UPF rating is preserved when wet, after salt and chlorine water contact, and across multiple wash cycles — explicitly verified by the UV STANDARD 801 test protocol.
The fit is cut to standard proportions with slightly longer leg coverage — designed to protect the upper thigh without restricting movement. Flatlock seams and an elastic drawstring waistband retain full range of motion. Two zipped pockets with branded uveekai zip pullers keep keys, cards, and valuables safely stowed — even when the shorts go into the water.
